today I went to check out a car for a mate and in the workshop was a XB GT and an SS. The SS is hanging off the roof. I got a couple of pics. The SS has had a lot of mods to the chassis apparently the owner is in the Emriates somewhere and intends on circuit racing it when he gets back. Its going to have some fully alloy motor.

:P

Good way to create some space though. As long as the chassis isn't being stressed.

Was just flicking through and noticed this old thread. That hatch hanging up there is a mates car. It is a genuine SS 308 4 speed and it's original colour is aquariuos. It's a shame he decided to destroy it in the way he has. I have the front seats from it in my shed.

haha, shows how much people like to bullshit doesn't it. The car has very little of the original car remaining, I think he still has the dash and tags, the bodyshell is more heavily modified than you may realise. I bought all of the trim out of the car in 1990 and put it in my own SS which was sitting next to his car in the carpark at the RAAF base in Wagga when I first saw it. I'll see if I can drag up some pictures. As I said, I still have the front two seats in the shed.

Red after doing that to a genuine 308 SS 4 speed your mate must be a prime candiate for the "No Eyed Deer" award.

Genuine car 1990 but what's with the skinny stripe/strip down the side

Just goes to show you that not all cars are as they were suppose to be when they came out of the assembly plant.

That's something I have said all along since knowing Ron who worked at Acacia Ridge and told me of the mistakes made at the plant but this one maybe as it was ordered.

Regards ............. Barry

PS ....... Off to pick up Mr Brock tomorrow

I think the original owner didn't like the big stripes and removed them for smaller ones. 1990 was still 13 years after the SS was made, that plenty of time to change things from original

Guys, I was just told the other day the SS that was hanging up in the roof was stolen. My mate has moved to the US and had the car packed up in a shipping container to take with him but the container and all the car parts were stolen. This car had some very distinctive mods done to it and would be easily recognisable. Keep your eyes out.

Red if i hear any thing in my part of Tassy, will let ya know, hope it gets found, that SS and my old
Blue SS were the only two in hat colour as far as i have seen or know off, i got my old Blue SS painted
in Black, cause i could not find a factory black SS L31 back in the day, my old blue one is now yellow and
used as a race car.

There's an SS that colour on the Central Coast, pretty original too.
