Hill climb may also be Templestowe if the shots were taken in Vic, Rob Roy and Templestowe were both unsealed to begin with.
Photos seem to be late 50's, looks like a Bugatti and maybe an Alfa out amongst the Coopers. Great shots.

I'd say late 50'6 early 60's as there is an FE holden in the pics of Sandown. Maybe the Graham Blanchard car which is still racing these days.

The other pics are definitly Phillip Island of the same era as there is an FE/FC Ute in the background
I think that the hill climb could be Templestowe the sports car is wither an early elfin or Lotus 23/stirling
It has VW wheels on the front looking at the stud pattern so maybe an Elfin

That is what I thought also ,it's sad to see it now,you can still walk around it .our car club was lucky enough to drive around it a couple of years ago, before they stopped traffic ,some quite sharp and narrow bends .

Yeah we have gone up a few times and looked at the old track. It's a good drive up. Katoomba council maintains it to a point

They are Definately Catalina Park some of them. That last 1 must be the straight up to the Cutting? A section of the track has colapsed at Catalina. It would be an awesome track... its a shame to see a part of History going to waste.. Catalina Park... Warwick Farm.. Amaroo Park.. Soon Oran Park... whats next?... Bathurst?

Not racing, but the last Torana's to drive the Catalina track before the council closed the track .I can tell you the top of the track had some very tight turns, them a windy downhill section to the love tunnel ,the last corner before the straight.

I took some video footage from when we went there. I made my gf walk the whole track with me lol.. Would be awesome to get it re opened for club events etc.... But she needs alot of work.. To get to the Inside of the track you actually have to wait till racing stops because there is no bridge or tunnel.. Smack bang in the middle of a gully... Lets hope it is'nt turned into a housing estate in the future.

Was'nt there another track out west somewhere?.... I forget what it was called.... But alot of people did'nt like it because of the racing surface....

Mt Goonoblass near Orange. I think some of those first pics posted might be of there... Or it even looks a little like Mt Druitt. That pre dated Amaroo here in Sydney.
My Druitt is long gone, and I am going of the pics that I have seen in the old mans photo album.

Think i might buy afew hundred acres in the middle of woop woop and build me a race track... then wait for a developer to try and buy that and shut it down too.

Catalina would have been the most dangerous circuit in Sydney. It was narrow, the rain and mist made it slippery and the only overtaking spot was the main straight.
Two meetings I attended resulted in two deaths. One a Formula 3 and the other a GT Cortina.

Theres something about this Track... Gave me goose bumps walking around it... I was waiting for a old Humpy to come roaring around the corner... It really is something that needs to be preserved and not let to rot away.

Amaroo like Oran park was good from a spectator point of view, meaning you could see most of the track from one vantage point.
I miss those tracks, maybe they were not quite international status but the atmosphere was great.
