Maybe we should look at setting a cruise date for the forum to make the trip?

I rang the council today there is no car access to the grassed area inside the track ,as it was given back to the local Aborigines ,and with all the bush up here ,they want the track to revert back to bushland as well .But you can have access.and walk the track.Parking is no problem ,but you would be away from the car.

Yeah you have to park in the Aquatic centre car park and your basically next to the track. This was going to be part of a cruise i was going to organise at going to where the old tracks used to be... like Amaroo.. Warrick Farm etc... Catalina Park etc and eventually end up at Bathurst.

I mean if i have to leave the car at this aquatic centre to get to the track walking wise, how good is the area in terms of populus, ie, will my car be there untouched when i get back.

josh, come look at the lc when you are down for this, im not too far away.

took my cbr around the track last weekend, there is easy access for a road bike though you are not supposed to be on the track.

A car would be fine to still do a lap, just duck for a few branches and go slow over the sticks and moss

I think we should bring boltcutters, a pair of loppers, a broom & invite the press.

surley this could be organised with bmcc

the dirt track?? i had to go slightly off road =] nearly came off! it was no problem to ride around. I was speaking to a council bloke the other day. a few years back it was quoted @ 270K to re-surface the track not including fencing. so the idea was once there.

Wow. Thanks for posting.

The track looks really ruined, the bush is reclaiming it quicker than I would have thought.

I was up there in around 1996/97 and watched some historic cars 'race' around the track - more of an exhibition than an all out race. Such an historic part of racing in NSW seemingly gone.

PS: Its a shame you didn't run over that yappy dog.................
