Aiming to have the 202 built and hopefully installed before Toranafest. If not i will judge how the 173 is running and might take it up the freeway one last time...or maybe a trading post special could make an appearence

My uncle came over to give me a hand setting the crank and pistons in. Was all good until we got to the piston rings...looks like some idiot who put the rings in the box at the factory put the wrong ones in, so a minor setback but will have the pistons swinging off the crank next saturday :D .
Wont be ready for Toranafest but cant win them all...just gives me more time to get it looking and sounding healthy for 2009!! In the meantime here are some pics of the engine on the stand (yes wrapped in plastic), sump, carby setup and of the LJ. Only dodgy phone pics though

Cheers,
Mick

EDIT - forgot to add that i recently picked up a black interior off Wayne (Blown308) to suit LJ 4dr. Have only put on door trims and rear seat at this stage but will be doing carpet and front seats shortly. it is a black cloth and it wont win any shows but is a lot warmer than vinyl in winter.

Wow...long time since an update, been off the road since 2012 and finally got it in my garage at home (thanks mum for storing it all this time...). 2 houses and twins since last update, just poor finances/time. Engine & body work now well overdue, need to replace bottom of front lower quarters, passenger side sill, front valance, front radiator support and passenger side rear quarter. Mrs has set deadline at December 2021 but we will see how that goes...

Lower front quarters arrived from aveska auto parts last week (aussie made, cheaper than rares too), just have to get the angle grinder out. Exciting times ahead, if not expensive!

Give us a review on Aveska parts as never heard of them before...not touched my lc in ages too although wouldn't mind getting back into it next year.
