830, are you sure of this? What else do you know about it because I don't believe it exists anymore, at least not as an A9X

It's one of the cars I have been doing a little history searching on. 830, see if you can get the owner to tell you what happened to it after Forbes sold it, was it raced again or turned into a street car or what the story was. It will be interesting to see if the story matches.

Hi Red. I asked KB about this car and he swears it started life in a different colour to the UBlue it raced in? It was a while ago, mind you.

both the 77 and the 78/79 bob forbes a9x race cars started life as ultra blue shells , these were known as gmpa shells 1 and 2 , the 77 car raced in ultra blue but the 78/79 bathurst car was painted white and martini livery in 78 just prior to bathurst , a closer inspection shows the remains of original ultra blue paint inside chassis rails etc on the 78/79 car , the martini livery was slightly changed on this car when don holland drove it bathurst 79 ...

Shaun, what does your tag say for the colour code? You say it was originally Ultra Blue, but does the tag reflect that? I was told a totally different story by Mike Prowse to that. Did you find out about the one in Adelaide? I would be extremely interested to know the story to go with it.
I'd be very interested to know where the person in Adelaide came by the car because if it came from where I think it did, I suspect someone is about to get a nasty shock.

mick , definately ultra blue , the gmp&a tag reads paint code 568-30523 , i,d say mike has his wires crossed , forbes ordered two ultra blue gmp&a,s, KB was there when these 2 went down the line in front of HDT to do the extra welds , i,ve spoken to kevin about this and what went on , he said there were lots of peeps of each others cars through the corner of there eyes from both teams.

i have never seen the 77 car but it was in conversation with someone at mcm 2 or 3 years ago , so not sure if gosble or not , i sometimes got storys at the tracks about this car and that car , some even claiming to own or owned this or that .... sounds like you know where it is ? pm me if you dont want to make it public , i would be interested to know , i could also confirm if its the real deal with info i have .

Interesting, the phone rang a couple of nights ago and to my surprise it was Bob Forbes on the other end. I might ask him what he remembers about the cars too.
