I have a factory black LX 5000 but it is in etch primer at the moment. It was red with silver stenciling when I got it, I wanted a black one, so I was wrapped after I brought it and found out it was a factory tuxedo black car, cheers Aaron.

Yeah I know there are a few LX's in Tuxedo but LH in Tuxedo Black seems to be super rare?

I don't know if it is Warrigal or Tuxedo, but one was painted black early in '74.

Thats interesting!

However how can they state the Engine Serial # is HT but the cubic capacity is 202ci?

I didn't notice that. Maybe the prefix wasn't in use yet, or they just hadn't heard of the SL/R 5000  as there is an amendment sheet in May '74 detailing the differences of the 5000 over the six cylinder.

The form says that 500 vehicles would be produced IAW the specs on that form, but if you wanted to be picky, you could state they were not produced IAW those exacting details and were in breach?

I guess it was a more relaxed life back then and girls were allowed to be called girls, boys were allowed to be called boys and there were no Do-Gooders ruining our Aussie way of life.

The way I read it is they started production of the 202 car on Feb 19th, and reached 500 by 1st April. Before that form was printed out.

Unfortunately, there are no build dates on the SL/R 5000 or L34 homologation papers.
