Dont jump the gun when people are helping you out buddy.
Heres something for you, your looking at spending $63k on a car and you dont know how the bonnet should be painted? Do some research.

Point taken.

l owned an A9X hatch and sedan back in the early-mid 90's, both were gloss as were many others l saw in the club at the time. Must have been a common change made to these cars back then although both cars had been in front end prangs so l guess thats where the change may have been made. Thats where l got the wrong idea on gloss from.

The other point to consider,is that car polishes are so good these days,,lf you were to paint an A9X bonnet correctly in satin, and you put polish on it because your polishing the rest of the car,the satin finish would polish up to a semi gloss look, depending on the quality of your polish,so in other words you really cant polish it,,,,,,,which makes them tricky to maintain,i suppose thats why a lot of them have a glossy look............

l have had the privilege of many trips to Karratha, been to Tom Price for a stopover one time and spent a few days in sunny Mt Magnet a few years ago so have a feel for that part of Oz. Where abouts are you?

Cheers

The numbers are ok, but I've never seen the car and I don't know anyone who has. I'd like to see some more on the car, i'm surprised it's still for sale, maybe it's because the guy is remote and hasn't supplied any pics to anyone who has requested them?

Not a good photo and those wheels dont do it justice gives the car a cheap impression.

Like it doesnt run and its been left in the back yard to rotregards

Whats wrong with the wheels ?, Hotwires were pretty common on cars of that era, look good when polished up. Have a set for mine, they certainly look OK

They aren't talking about the wheels on the opaline car, they are talking about the ones on the ultra blue car in WA

I also had them on a Monaro that I had and I recon it looked good.

Sorry, not for me on a A9X............regards

Correction: Thanks Red, I'm not talking about hotwires.

According to the list in Eric Blair's book there are/were 3 A9X sedans in Opaline Blue, body numbers 597050M & 597691M (the two listed for sale above) and a third sedan with the body number 598129M

From the same list, there was only one hatch in Opaline Blue, body number 595849M

All 3 sedans had slate black trim, the hatch had chamois trim.

Do you know if the hatch is around?

I've seen pictures of one but not sure if it's A9X
