great day, plenty of cars, usually hot.

so many cars it is hard to get around and see all of them during the day. they just keep pouring in through the gates.

i will be going with the Vic Torana Club, we are meeting at Calder at 7am and leaving at 7:30 am.
you can pay your entry fee there which allows you to drive straight in the gates. and usually theres a free breakfast too.

always a great day.
is there many from the forum going?

Not sure what's been organized mate. We will most probably have a fair few Toranas on display and the banner out the front of them somewhere. Marquees etc I'm not too sure about. i've never been to the event but i'm guessing we will have some kinda shelter because i have heard it is an always stinking hot!

Look foward to meeting you.

Chris, if you could bring the camera it'd be fantastic, even as a backup - and charge your batteries first :P

See you there mate

Heath my cameras full of photos from my holiday, and Ican't download them onto my computer as my dvd/cd players crapped itself, so therfore atm if I download them there stuck there for good, or until I get a new one. But I'll see what I can do. Anyway the batteries are always charged it's just me remembering to bring the bloody thing.

Cheers Chris.

Never been to one of these,

Are shitty painjobs allowed in? Or is it shiny paintjobs only, like the Boronia Rod Run thing?

Well there's no 'bouncer' arrangement as you found out Rick. What did everyone think of the event? I will post photos sometime soon.

For those who didn't make it, over 2000 cars showed up (which is typical, they average two thousand or so each year) which were mostly beautifully presented machines.

That event was MASSIVE !!!!

I wonder if they did a count at the entry. I'm not sure what 2000 cars looks like but when I went for a walk, there were cars and cars and cars as far as eye could see in all directions, Fields and fields of the things. There must've been more that 2000 maybe even 3000. I spent hours trying to look at them all and filled the memory of two phones with pictures.

There were some NICE (showcar level) Torry's there too hiding here and there. The problem was that they were all spread out all over the place. Would've been better for them to organised the makes and models in different areas. Although that's what certian groups did anyway like the Monaros, VolksWagons and E & F series holdens and some other american cars.

The whole thing was very relaxed and pleasant. Everyone had smiles on their faces. There was also a large motorbike display with an impressive row of harley trikes.

I would recommend this event to ANYONE.
Guaranteed to see things you haven't seen before.

Good to hear Rick, I loved it too. It was my first time up there. Tonnes of cars, we counted #2046 on a Porsche 911 sticker, there probably woulda been 2100-2400 in the end I'm guessing, but no more than 2000 at once, because a fair few people left early. I seriously reckon for next year we should get the Forum community to meet with the VTC community and cruise up there together, because with 20 cars they people will be less inclined to let Porsche 928s park in the middle of our display - don't worry, they're normally fantastic, it was a one-off apparantly.

See you next year. Gimme a few days and we'll sort out photos.
