Anyone know how many GTRs or XU-1s were produced in the colour 13121, 1971 Amethyst Metallic??

It's a rare colour, I've only heard of 3 XU1s and now a GTR in this colour, I owned a CK engined 9th month 71 XU1 in this colour and it was a really nice colour, I've got plenty of pics but no scanner but I'll try to get a pic to post.

Finally got one, pick it up this Saturday, 7/71 with 173s engine, Amethyst Metallic with Sandlewood trim, seats and pinchweld, will post a few pics down the track

That sounds like a very nice pick up and also very rare a 173 LC GTR, there aint many of those left.

John, I'm not sure if it was the first owner but I do know the guy who owned the car for many years right back to the early 70s, it had a set of SprintMasters with the original centre caps with the world globe and the word Globe on them. Where was your mate from and how long did he have the car? Did it have headrests on the seats like an LJ but on LC seats?

We both worked at John A Gilbert of Camperdown in Sydney.
Do you know your selling dealer?
He bought the car through there and it used to have SM number plates.
My cousin has a photo of the car, But he does not even have a computer.
And, he's in Margeret River WA and I'm in Sydney.
I lost contact with the original owner Steve, Many years ago.
To us it was just another car when new.
I don't recall any of the features of it, except that it looked sh*t hot.

PS I'm sure it only had steel wheels when new.

A mate of mine in melbourne owns a 10/71 LC CK Bathurst in Amethyst with 40Z trim..40Z you ask?..hehe..Factory LJ head rests standard..Very rare car..

car is meant to have a Sandlewood trim, seats and pinchweld but currently has black, should look better when its back to original

its definetly supposed to be black. I probaly f...ed up the 40z thing but its definetly standard like that. When he bought it he thought some dickhead had put LJ seats in it until he was told different. Apparrently 1 of 3 made with headrests.Correct me if im wrong..Cheers..Phil :spoton:
