That sounds like a very nice pick up and also very rare a 173 LC GTR, there aint many of those left.Finally got one, pick it up this Saturday, 7/71 with 173s engine, Amethyst Metallic with Sandlewood trim, seats and pinchweld, will post a few pics down the track

John, I'm not sure if it was the first owner but I do know the guy who owned the car for many years right back to the early 70s, it had a set of SprintMasters with the original centre caps with the world globe and the word Globe on them. Where was your mate from and how long did he have the car? Did it have headrests on the seats like an LJ but on LC seats?Hi ck1971,

Do you know your selling dealer?
He bought the car through there and it used to have SM number plates.
My cousin has a photo of the car, But he does not even have a computer.
And, he's in Margeret River WA and I'm in Sydney.
I lost contact with the original owner Steve, Many years ago.
To us it was just another car when new.
I don't recall any of the features of it, except that it looked sh*t hot.

PS I'm sure it only had steel wheels when new.

I think it's even nicer in real life and a bit darker as well. It's rare and really nice.Never seen that colour before.
