Hi all,

Was over at a family friends the other afternoon, and he LOVES his FJ's. Whilst showing me around he pulled the covers off this beauty.

Now i cant remember the exact things he said but the Repco Reliability Tour, is ringing a few bells and i think he said it was in the 1970 races all over OZ. He was so excited about it and how it kept up with all the commodores and stuff.

He is just tidying it up a bit, but doesnt want to do too much as most of the original stickers are still on the car. I also have no specs of the running gear but am happy to ask if anyone wants to know.

Anyway heres pics, please correct me if i am wrong because i believe some of this is wrong.

Not a bad effort, running a 1950s car in the hardest trial ever run in Australia.
I wonder how the Toranas went that entered the '79 Rally.

Great pics of the Humpy :spoton:

AND I'm glad he is leaving it as original as possible, I'd even leave the original dings in it if there is some

A lot of people don't realise that the FJ was the lightest Holden sedan for quite a while.

It tipped the scales at 19.7 cwt (hundred weight) when most cars were were over the 20 cwt (1 ton) mark and that is why they went very well on the race track.

Thanks for sharing pics :spoton:

Regards .... Barry

I'm pretty sure there was another FJ from the Repco Reliability Trial in the Motor Museum in Fremantle which has now closed.

No idea what happened to it but it says a lot about how the cars were built back then.
