Gday all,

Firstly i would like to get numbers for who is interested in this one.

The suggested date would be somewhere in June, July or August depending on what is available.

The easy option might be to just crash a Winton Fun day, it would also be cheaper. However if we have a Practise day, it would cost more, but we would probably get more track time and there would be less people.

So please reply here If you are interested:

Yeah I'll probably come up for a geeze but can't see me racing anything until I've had my Ps for a little while.

Depending on the date, I'd like to go.
Should be a better transport time to track time ratio.
Yesterday I drove for 6 hours for 2 minutes of track time. (180:1) Don't interpret this as a complaint, its just something I thought of on the (long) drive home, In between trying to decide which was my favourite Torana on the day, and wondering how I could lose half a second and get into the 12s.

Go there on a 20degree day and you would probably get yourself into the 12's mate! A few of the experienced guys said their times were a second down on what they normally run....

40 degrees aint the best heat to run in! LOL

How safe is the fun day? I mean, do other people on the track respect other peoples cars as I don't want to bend any panels just because some P plate commodore driver thinks he is Peter Brock.

I've done about a dozen Winton Fun Days and only had one near miss. Generaly i find, its best to watch for a few sessions, spot the idiots and make sure your not on the track with them. Most people are pretty good, you can usualy pick the idiots on the track.

Thanks for the replys people. I will be getting in contact with Winton this week, and trying to lock in a date. I will also see how many we need to get to get the track to ourselves, I think it could be like 50 people tho.

Got another event to learn to do that. I have been a passenger at a Winton Fun Day and to be perfectly honest I wasn't hugely impressed. Well I mean I was impressed by how fun it was to be out there but wasn't impressed by the huge performance differences between cars on the track. I will go there when I feel ready, I will learn to steer in May if all goes to plan...
