Hi all and happy easter.

Has anyone tried block hugger headers on a small block chev in an LH/LX/UC .

These are the types I am looking at

or

I know they wont be as good as proper extractor but its just for a normal street driven car and will do for getting it on the road quicker.

Just trying to work out if they would/should or could fit, what do others think?

Also I need to see if I can get them in Aust or have to get them sent from US.

Thanks

Has anyone used the Chevy rams horn manifolds in the Toranas?

Do you use the short straight type or the longer bent type?

Do they need to be modified?

Anyone have pictures of them, and where does the pipe run on the drivers side?

Thanks, the gts
I'll have to think about it and if I decide to buy in the future and you still have them, I'll PM you.
I'm not ready for them quite yet, but I don't think you will have as ChevLX_77 has asked and you may have others who are looking if not gone already.

surely has anyone used or tried the Chev manifolds, do they fit or need modifying, also read that there was going to try to put together a sticky on Chev into Torana did it ever get put together or started and lost or never eventuated.

I'm trying to research this before I make up my mind and get that far, so surely over priced extractor, are not the only way to go is it.

My car runs the standard rams horns at the moment. But will the flow job i have just completed they will be a restriction plus there crap. tight and get in the way. Your so much better off buying a decent set of pipes like what the GTS has for offer.

I can not afford pipes now i am about to purchase a new manifold

Hi ChevLX_77

Like you at a later date I would like a decent set of pipes like what the GTS has for offer, which are at a good price.

But for now the standard rams horns will do.

Do they need to be modified to fit?

Where does the pipe run on the drivers side?

Are you able to take some pics or have some already?

Also what engine mounts have you used?

Thanks if you could help out.

Hey UC HATCH, are you fitting a Chev in your UC? What State are you in? I recently purchased a UC hatch (in NSW) but now I'm concerned that I might have trouble with engineering after reading about the lighter chassis in the UC. Have you had any issues?

Hi Macman,

I to would like to know where you read this also like ALX76 as I know of know difference between them myself.

Yes I am getting info for fitting a Chev into a UC, I started about 22 years ago but it has been on hold for almost 20 years lock away due to other commitments.

I'm in Adelaide and have not yet gone to get approval but trying to find out all I need to get before going on a spending spree. (I hope)

I don't know if an engineer is needed here now yet, but I didn't when I got the approval back when started, but laws have changed so I guess I should find out soon, Although I need to get an engineer for cutting the hatch floor to fit a tray for a LP gas tank. (which I would not have needed 20years ago)

The only part I think I need to really find out is the exhaust manifolds and awaiting for pics from ChevLX_77 to get time to take pics of his with standard rams horns as my engine isn't in or with the car at the moment.

Cheers

Sure is an old thread, almost 10years, pipes would have rusted away by now?
