Performance Hotwires were mentioned earlier, thought I'd put up

some pics. Bloke at Mr Mag called them a "Performance-wire"??

Not as popular as the other brands as they looked a little different &

think its got to do with the "wire" X's.

Performance 13x6.5"

all Performance rims I've seen have 15 X's

Cheviot 13x7"

Attached File  13x7chevoit.jpg   478.56K   8 downloads

the others have 13 X's

wonder if the cap is universal? then I could just reproduce the decals

These 15 by 10 single dish hotwires were made by Aunger. Only a few sets were done and given to race teams to try. It seems it was a bit harder to change tyres on them so no more were made.
These ones were given to Tim Slako.

A set was also given to Ian Diffen which could be the set that was brought up on Welby's for sale thread.

It looks like they are a reverse fitment rim. Tyre comes on and off from the rear instead of the front. So says my mate who is a retired tyre fitter.

Hi Laurie - these are my rims I bought a few months ago.

Interesting to hear about them as they have no markings or i.d. on them that I can see. Is it possible to confirm any more information about them?

Cheers

I only know what I said above. If I ever catch up with Tim I'll ask if he knows any more. The Slako rims have no marks either.

I have 15x91/2 & 15x10's, both pair with 5" backspace.. The 91/2 rims have stamps on outside next to air valves & the 10's have stamping on the backside spoke casting..Can anyone shed some light as to what they mean? I'm guessing it's something to do with manufacturing ID date & circuit use aplication..

No Rexy, was someone else.. Looking at making the 91/2 fit the front & clear everything with 285 40 15 Yoko's.. Will need HQ stubs / a9x set up for starters & milling 1/2" off the mounting boss  etc..

A pair of nice 14x10. Took the old tyres off and found they are consecutively numbered.

14x10 and 15x10 side by side. Contour of rims is the same as far as I can tell. The 15 weighs 10.2kg and the 14 weighs 8.3kg.

Looks like a fair bit of the extra 1" is in the hub plate around the stud holes.
