hi all, have a couple of questions. recently stripped out front end of lx torana to paint engine bay thought while this was out we will replace springs, shocks, all bushes and whatever else needs replacing, ball joints, tie rods. well its time to put back together, was doing really well untill i got to the outrigger bushes

1) do you push these back in from the inside of the frame or the outside

2) not really a question but, i'm fitting super pro bushes and the bushes for the k frame to chassi bushes seem to have large holes in the centres. i've checked the website to check whether i have the correct bushes and i have. i compared them to the rubber bushes that i removed and the out side diameter is the same but the inside holes seem to be the same but the rubber ones have a locating washer as part of the bush whereas the super pro don't, to me it seems that there is a lot of room for the front suspention to move around in.

any thoughts or help is appreciated

If you are talking about the four bushes between the k-frame and chassis then you fit the steel tube and washer from the rubber bushes to the super pro bushes.

From the outside. Put the bush in first and then push in the steel tube.

Thanks Fella's. My bushes had already been removed & the 1 that was in there fell apart when I removed the K frame. I have just grunted & groaned them in back to front
Andy, I'm only using rubber & the steel tube appears to be part of the bush.

Cheers.

The SuperPro bushes come apart easily, I can not remember fitting the original bushes but I would expect the steel tube to be removable.

most usually come with new steel tubing inserts and a packet of grease.

The steel tube protects the bush from wear due to the threads and constant friction.

The steel bush didn't appear to be removable from the OEM rubber bush. The frame slid back in easy..... after the bushes had been pushed all the way into their spot. That took some doing but the buggers back in their now. :spoton:

I looked at the various pictures in the holden parts manual for how the K frame outrigger bushes go and they displayed them both ways---crazy.
