Trying to get my rear end to sit a little lower in my Lx sedan. I already have lowered king springs in the rear which are part # KHRL12.
I have noticed that kings now do super low and ultra low for hq and hz and they are a different part number to lx being #KHRL26.

BUT........if you go on the whiteline site they have the same part number for hq and lx but only in low springs.

So am just wondering has anyone fitted hq rear springs in a lx torana? are they the same shape? I would hazard a guess that the spring rate might be different but whiteline list the same spring for v8 torana and 6 cyl hq so I am a bit confused

Springs are the same fitment in shape but may differ in ride height as each model will have a different rate due to different tare weights.

same shape but HQ springs are longer, I have lowered a few Kingswoods by fitting standard Torana springs

thanks. going by the lentghs then I suppose that the hq super low will probably just end up being low on a torana, so I am back at square one.
looks like i will just have to call them and get them to reset some springs to the ride height i want, that way I might stll have some ridability so to speak.

tried vs irs rear springs for a while but they were a little too stiff for my liking.

Camira springs are about 20mm lower than IRS springs and a bit softer if you want to give them a try

haha... I do want to, but makka's is just a tad lower than what I want. I have already emailed kings and asked for their advice/opion on resetting my springs or buying brand new custom ones. it will come down to price I guess.

Not too keen on cutting anything on springs either, getting too old or wise for that ( not sure which)

My car has too many ford parts in it already not too shore if I want to add camira to the list as well :tease:

thanks guys.

Follow up
ok. After talking to king springs about getting my existing springs re-set it turns out all they will do is heat and shrink them anyway. They weren't interested in making new ones to heights I provide.
I was told to just go to a spring maker in Vic and get them to compress them for me.

This is what I eventually did. Went to browns springs and spoke with a guy called David. within an hour they were heated, compressed, painted and in my hands!!

I only compressed them one inch in lower than previous. They are lower but the pics dont show quite how much as they are from different angles and I dont have any more of it sideon as it was.

Just to add to the HQ to LH/LX thing, the guy I got my wheels off had them on a flared Torana but he never cut the guards, he jacked the ass up by putting some HQ springs in it for clearance.
