The first one is mine which is a Brisbane build as per earlier post & i'm fairly sure the second one is owned by "Wayne" (not sure of rego)is also a Brisbane build car, it's a 1/72 car as well.

No worries Dave,It seems most Brisbane ones are 1/1972 accept for the 6/1972 one in NSW
And the Adelaide ones are 3/1972,5/1972,8/1972 So far anyway from what i have come across,be interesting what the one in England is a Brisbane Built or Adelaide Built and what the build date is.

There a Guy advertising a 1972 LJ GTR in ACT,he says its Originally a Strike Me Pink Coloured one,its missing a tag,but has the other two,its a Purple colour the car now.
The ACT Rego Number is YAB43B
Its been in The Just Cars Mag a few times for sale,Any one seen this LJ to say it is a Original SMP LJ GTR

Can you supply just a state or closest capital city? Until confirmed or the owners turn up here, at least it gives us all a good indication of what is still about.

He has sold it,i asked where it went to,He said he would not tell,So its gone some where.

If you go on You Tube and look for

And watch them,there is a SMP LJ GTR on there,the car is in Qld and he has a Qld Home Number on rear window of the SMP LJ,i rang ages ago about it,The guy's Mum picked up the phone she said he sold it Due to going on a overseas trip to england,he sold it up in Cairns in Palm Cove,maybe PWH.161 SMP LJ XU-1 Owner might of spotted it.

found this add in a december 1972 publication. could be the same car.

I also have info that the second LJ XU1 of the adelaide assembly line was also Strike me pink and was used as a rally car, i doubt this car still exists

The Strike Me Pink LJ XU-1 that you are talking about,It was called The Pink Panther that Rally Car and i think it was the Second Adelaide XU-1 Built,It raced in the Southern Rally i think it copped some damage in that rally,but it was abit famous the Pink Panther,im Guessing from it must of Scored some wins in the day.

I Heard the one in NZ is 3/1972 but i dont know if its Adelaide Built or Brisbane Built,but you would think GMH Head Office in Port Melbourne might of Been incharge of the Export Program,it be a Adelaide Built as Adelaide Fed Melbourne the 82911 LJ Cars

Is there any Pics of the Famous SMP Pink Panther rally car in action that someone could post it up in here,as i have heard of the car,but never seen it.
The other rally drivers would of seen the Pink Panther in the distance or sneaking up on them with the SMP War Paint for sure lol
