I would be keen if I can get myself into another Torana soon enough, fingers crossed. I also have a mate who could possibly be able to bring a few sweet holdens along. there is a couple of tough Toranas in the bunch. hopefully this kicks off and becomes a regular event

If I don't have a worthy car in time I would be keen to spectate too

First half of the month is best.

Seth turns 4 on the 27th, so we'll be a bit busy on the 28th :D

14th is a Street Series event as opposed to a Test n Tune. The main issue I see here is the inablilty for our meeting to race afterwards. I can check it out with WB though.

7th - Nothing listed on WB calendar
14th - Street Series
21st - Bracket Series
27th is a Test and Tune possibly our only option for March.

So I reckon its either the 27th or maybe we look at late Feb?

Late Feb, giving the Calder boys something to chase??
:P
I'd like the opportunity to at least be available, even if I don't have a car ready to race.

So in February they have test and tunes on the 14th and 21st
meaning they'd be the options right?

Aggro, I was out there on the Sunday only and yeah I was only spectating. I dont think my "half primer" UC would have fitted in very well :-)

I was on the look out for "known Toranas" but I didnt spot yours? I obviously wasnt looking hard enough !!

Just thinking about the October date after Matts suggestion of 3 months lead time, maybe it is too soon? I am open to suggestions, let me know what you all think.

Cheers,

T

Compared to some of the shitboxes that were out there i think your uc would still look better then them and go harder to

Time to pull my finger out and get mine running

Street Series ,Bracket Series and Test and tune are not the same !

Bracket Series Racing you will need a Andra Licence to race and a "Tempory" Andra Licence (extra $5) for the Street Series Racing

plus in both of these you can be iliminated (lose your 1st race and you are spectating)

Test and Tune is just that ,has no Andra Licence needed, and you can keep on queueing up to race over and over (depending on number of cars and the closing time of course)

I am happy go with the majority whatever date is decided, but i think a actual "Test & Tune" would be best for most just wanting to have a bit of fun

G'day Guys & girls.
im not a regular comentater on this site but i do get on & read the forum regulary, i am the owner of the red LC GTR lookalike doing the burnout on the video of last years drag day.
The reason im comentating is to let you know that im a member of the classic & musscle car club of ipswich & i have organised a couple of club drag days & they are great fun, we have another 1 this coming november, i would highly reconmend going to a test n tune day as you can race each other all day, where at the street series days they actully race off once qualifiying has finished normally around 6pm & one your beaten your out for the rest of the night.
Also 30 cars might sound like alot but there is quite a gap between race's
Cheers Wayne

Which video is that Wayne? From the Vic drag day?

Would any members of your club be interested in coming along to the drag day we are organising? Toranas preferably.

The original day was to be on the 13 of september, but due to the new helmet rules which mainly concerns andra licence holders we had to postpone it to a latter date to give those people with andra licences time to get the correct helmet, the new date has been penciled in for the 22 of november & should be in the next news letter.

BIG T, my LC is in the the video from the QTCC drag day at willowbank at the start of this "Drag day forum article", it only has me doing a burnout, the last time i raced in vic was when i had my old HT monaro "HITMAN" about 10 years ago.
We are a mixed car club with about 6-8 toranas, we are having a committee meeting on monday i'll put towards them & see if there's any interest.

As of the 1.9.2008 all ANDRA licence holders must have a helmet that meets the new Australian Standards Regulations.
All AS 1698 helmets are NO LONGER USEABLE. The new Standard is now AS/NZS 1698:2006 (AS/NZS 1698).
