Hey Guys,

I think it might be time to start planning our 4th GMH-TORANA.COM drag day! The last 3 have been fantastic! (Although last year was BLOODY HOT!)

Big T is proposing to organise a QLD Drag day, that could coincide with our Victorian drag day. If we managed to do this, we could try and get heaps of PROMO's out there and get a heap of Torana's up and racing!

Seeing as though Heathcote is a bit quiet these days, they may want us to guarantee that we get a solid amount of cars there (40+) Last year was looking to be really solid until the massive heatwave hit! We had a tonne of guys pull out because it was just too damn hot!

Anyway, Surely TINY is due to bring that Red Machine of his down next year! Maybe he could shoot Heathcote an email for us.

March is always a good time of year to run it. Anyone have any bad point about March? Normally march is better weather, last year was just a freak of nature!

Yeah Matt sounds good.

This should be an annual event.
Hopefully a little cooler than this year!

Count me in.

This time around, I plan to be a bit better organised as well. Once we have locked in a date. I will call up some motels and make sure we book them early. (Last year for some fluke, we landed the Drag Day on the same weekend as some National Athletics thing in Bendigo, and there was not a single spare room ANYWHERE in Bendigo!)

The First year was the best, We had a really nice motel with a nice BBQ in the Middle. So once a date is settled, I'll give them a call and see what they can do for us.

A bit more promotional stuff this year would be great as well! Maybe if we put an Ad in a few things we could get some more guys to come along with TORANAS. It would be grouse to have 30-40 Torana's racing! Then a few other cool old cars!

*fingers crossed* Heathcote still allow club days on Saturdays.

Both Calder and Heathcote are good places to race. Heathcote does seem more of a relaxed place though. One advantage Calder has is if you break something, you are closer to home (for most people).

I would love to hire out Calder, but it costs something like $5000 or something stupidly high like that..

Heathcote is just $45 for each competitor...And we get the whole track to ourselves...

lol Matt. coupe202 was actually a competitor in our first drag day (violet turbocharged six cylinder holden powered LJ). I can't see how we could pull off Calder, but I'm willing to be proved wrong!

Well, Heathcote say on their website they still run club days. So hopefully we can still hire the track!

I was hoping for a bit of a stronger response though... We will NEED 30 Cars as a minimum i would think.

I like the relaxed atmosphere of heathcote i rekon...and its affordable too for us P platers :P...
Im sure we can get 30 cars tho, you gotta consider that its just talk now and that March09 is still a fair while away.

Otherwise...i am speaking for my mate Mike too who will be there with his LH (will surely be finished by then)!! and myself
