UC rear discs

dattoman has stated several times that the new thickness for these discs is 15.9mm and the minimum is 14.7mm. Recently I have seen some documentation that states the minimum thickness is significantly different. So my question is, does anybody have documentation to back up the 14.7mm minimum thickness, or is it based on the assumption that it is similar to the HZ rear disc? I have seen worn UC rear discs with a thickness of 15.8mm, so the new thickness of 15.9mm may be correct.

14.22 minimum

Cant find anything that says new thickness yet!

But have a contact that might have some old PBR books that might shed more light on this.

If/when i get it i'll add it.

I'm currently searching/researching for all this info at the moment.

Rob, the rear disc listed there is 292mm diameter, which means it's an HZ rear. From what I can gather, the UC rear disc is 265mm diameter. My book also lists a 14.22mm minimum.

What we NEED to find out is did these rotors get used on anything else.
DBA had one of my spares for a time and couldn't match the measurements up with anything else australian - std or turned down........

We may need to take orders and see if we can have a bulk order produced.

I'm a couple of steps ahead of you Grant.

I do know what is likely to be the other possible vehicles they may have been on, and I can arrange a batch of new discs as long as I pay in advance. When I asked, the minimum order was 10 units.

When we sat down at Silverwater, they were going to come out about three times the cost of an HZ rotor!!
An minimum run.....don't ask.

We should be able to make the disc slightly thicker, as the caliper is the same as A9X, so accepts a wider rotor.......
Can they do slotted or vented??

Hi Guys.

The UC rear disc rotors are 10 1/2 inches in diameter & 5/8 inches thick. In metric this is 266.7 mm x 15.875 mm. A lot of these companies round up & down when they convert imperial to metric. To my knowledge the HZ/WB & A9X rear disc is the same thickness as the UC (15.875 mm), just larger in diameter (both hub & outer).

A9X caliper is different
Not alot
But its different

And I doubt you would get any more radial out of the disc before it bangs the caliper
Not to mention the top radius of the pad

Don't go reinventing the wheel

They'll need to be wider so they can be machined a few or 4 times if they are going to be around $400 each :cry:

Otherwise it will be bloody hard to justify too SWMBO :blink:

Hi To all i have a mate that works for ROTORS & DRUMS AUSTRALIA he is looking into getting UC Torana rear rotor maid now i have had well over 20 emails do i sell any rotors for UC torana he has sent one off to there R&D last week he will let me know.

I am about to fit a set of rear discs to my UC Hatch. I am interested in availability of new rotors. Also I heard that I will have to make some changes to the proportioning valve, can anyone help?

I have picked up a UC rear Disc Diff for my 308 hatch,

can someone tell me wat booster/master cylender i can use.

iv heard u can use the A9X style booster?

but where do i find one.

any info would help.
