The fords have been doing it for years and they get 70+ cars!

I can understand Heathcote's decision not to allow clubs ( i think theyre being nice in putting it to us like that) because if we only get 30 or even 40 cars then it's not economically viable for them to pay their staff, prep the track and areas etc.

It's sad, but they've given us 2 goes and we didnt break 40 cars! (42 was the most i think!?)

Can approach the Ford Forum to see if they want us to tag along, but i dont think their day is in the same "spirit" as ours was.

I think what matty is doing is spot on, I'm sure there will still be heaps ofr acing for everyone to get out and have a go!

Cheers

Yep, Tiny is 100% right.... I can totally see where Heathcote are coming from.

I think it hurt us last year that it was like 40 degrees and we had at least 20 cars pull out! Last year was looking to be huge (50+ Cars) But then the heat brought it down to only about 25 i think... (25 x $50 = $1250, that might not have paid the 6-7 People who were working there for the FULL day out in the sun...)

But yeah, I am hoping we still get a heap along to this Test and Tune day, you never know, if we get a heap of guys up there this year. They may let us hire the track for the day again next year! You never know!

BTW, i would be happy to pay $80 each to have the day to ourselves, as i reckon most others would as well... But when i put that forward they said that don't want to change their pricing structure.

Anyway, Really looking forward to this day! I am aiming to have a new cam and a few other things done to the motor by then!

I think your both right! N i like your idea matt if we get a heap of numbers maybe next year theyl giv us a club day?
Another idea maybe find another small club n run togther for next year!?! Anyway some test n tune days are pretty quiet! Most of the big boys leave by lunch!
Well i cant wait hopefully i can get a few lil things sorted on my car n try for that low 12!! FINGERS CROSSED!

If Only Ausmusclecars.com.au wasnt just full of Torana Members! It would be great if we could go up against a Ford forum and have a real HOLDEN Vs FORD thing happening!

I just don't even know anyone from the Blue oval team!

You could try joining up on Modified car forums and asking there, there are a few VIC ford club members from memory. If there arent too many, im sure someone knows someone who knows someone ;)

When my mates ran the ford forums, i did ask them if they were interested, but they had a thing going with another holden forum/club at the time (regular attendees).

You could simply contact the admins of the forum.. or ask dagabond! LOL!

I was looking at upcoming events in the new year.

This will clash with the All Holden Day which is held at Flemington.

It might hurt attendances to this drag day?

Just my thoughts

Ahhh is it?

Personally I am not fussed, as i have never been to an All Holden Day, but i am sure that others may be regular All Holden Day attendees...

I know whats more fun that looking at a bunch of Torry's and holdens... And thats giving them hell down the Qtr Mile!!!!

Just had a look at my entry form and you are right, they do clash. I have sent off my entry form and cash already so I will have to take my name off the list. I would rather race car than show car so I have a hard decision to make on which to go to. Do I go to the All Holden day and wish I was at the drags all day or sacrifice the $20 entry to the Holden day and thrash my car instead?

You will never live that one down Darren. :spit: :tease: :tease:

I don't have a running Torana to bring to the drag day, so i dunno if i would come or not. If i do it will be in the Daily.

Transfer the entry to the All Holden Day (im sure it could be done with a phone call or something) to a mate for two six packs or something.

Then go racing!
