Ok went to see a mate on saturday at his factory unit bought the gtr out for a squirt. next door there is a panel and paint shop couple of guys came out and had a bit of a sticky at my torrie and then proceed to tell me they have one of brocks and bond racing xu1s my first thought was yeah and im santa clause so i say ok show me there it was what a mess they are saying that this was the gloweave xu1 that was painted black and gold or black and yellow.what i want to know was there such a car or these guys full of shit any any racing gurus know about this car rory can you shed some light on the subject if it helps the car came from benalla vic. sorry about the long post.cheers

brock and bond in a gloweave car ? what the f.ck!!.....black and gold/ yellow and gold ? what the fu.k !!............everyone has a brock or bond xu1, just ask ian tate ! ......i think there must be more than 1500 of them by now !

Saggy wasnt having a shot at you G....we have heard so many of these it isnt funny...Just ask the guy can he explain how the car with CAMS COD that is currently competing in Victoria has a twin in his shed....how it is he thinks he has the same car....then wait for the answer...the look on his face will be priceless...if we can get you a pic of the current car to take with you...that would be be even BETTER!...RED???

Mick's spoton here,car was basically totalled Phillip Island Historics 2007 at start/finish line when VL Walky stalled/faulted on grid,XU1 has been totally rebuilt and made it's race debut last year,currently getting motor rebuilt at present. The above pictures from rodomo is the car.
Will post some pictures of it totalled when i find them.

Is it possible the car being referred to here is one of the two 6 cylinder alloy head sports sedans Brock drove in 73? The B & D car, or the Trident car. See the pics below. One of the photos shows the B & D car in HDT colours at Wanneroo - that is May 74. I realise there was mention of Gloweave sponsorship, but maybe that was a furphy? Just having a stab here. Or maybe someone here knows where those two cars are...

it could be that the crash shop guy's are assuming who drove the car as has been the case before. then before you know it they will be restoring a brock torana....good story !! ........get as much info as you can and let's see if it is anything at all.....may be another hidden jewell !!!
i got a call recently from a guy who has a torana, ex race car in fact with alloy cage , mawer's, banjo with a detroit locker centre with 'HDT' stamped into the carrier. definately a sports sedan as the 'non' holden 6 was recessed.
still waiting for some pics, info from him ....it is an lc.
you cant rule out possibility without reasonable checking !.......they are out there.............laz
