Yes, this appears to be a normal HQ/HJ/LH V8 water pump housing, which would make it correct for an L34.

There is nothing unique about an L34 pump, it is the same an any other LH V8.

I thought and was hoping that was the case :) Wasn't game to state it though.

to answer the original question, no, thats not an L34 water pump, it's the housing for one, you won't pump much with that thing...... :P

Hi Guys.

I can overhaul these for you, but you will need another old pump off any V8, for the front hub & the impeller. I don't have any spare ones of those.

Fitting a new shaft, bearing & seal kit is the only way to keep a factory looking pump.

Hey Dr Terry,

Do you still have the capability to overhaul original water pumps? Could a GMB WP808CG pump be used as the sacrificial lamb?

Isn't it usually the alloy bodies that deteriorate first? My experience.

Was just thinking it might be a good idea to get a new bearing/seal/impeller in this pump that I have.

Looks to be the same single heater outlet as the water pump housing that came off my L34. So I’d say yes.
