Like GT stripes? Thats pretty easy, Im sure there are also kits available for that.
Easiest way for the DIY guy to apply them is get auto masking tape tape along hwhere you want them leavnig the required gap, ie 3 inch or whatever and look at car from all angles, get a friend to check then apply the vinyl,

Is that what you meant?

Similar to that steve.. THe stripes on a torana are a bit more complex due to the shape. I'm sure that there would he heaps of people with some pics to show you if theyre interested in getting you to do some!

Cheers.

Sure, thats the basis of what I do, custo vinyl graphics, I prefer to do custom work then be like every other kiddie on ebay doing rip offs.

So if anyone does have something in mind but think it might be too expensive, or too hard. Let me know I like a challenge, just ask Tiny!

I dont give up, unless of course I can destroy all evidence I tried LOL

Cheers

Sorry Steve, should have been more specific.

I am in the process of making some templates off my original stripes,
which I will digitise and make some DXFs from.

I'll send some pics and the DXFs when complete.

It will be a relatively easy job for you I suspect to make them in
just about any colour combo. (mine's red on orange)

If you look reaaaaallly hard at my avatar, you can see a red/orange
stripe on the belt line of the car. Runs front to rear.

Cheers, Leakey

Leakey,

Yep I get the picture now, sory I thought it was the two stripes Ive seen that go from front bumper over bonnet/roof/boot.
But hey when you get the dxf's and want some made give me a yell and see what I could do for you.

Cheers

I didnt actually know there was someone on here making these stripes! They should advertise ;)

Steve's a good mate of mine and has been doing these kind of signs etc for a while now, His work is very good and he's keen to give anything a try!

I would NEVER try to undercut whoever else is making these stripes ( as i said i didnt realise there were on here!), and i'm sure that steve's happy no matter who the buyer chooses to buy through!

Cheers!

Cool.

I am assuming that being Sydney based, Tiny,
that Steve is also Sydney based.

If other supplier is elsewhere, not much point in ordering from interstate when
I can pick up locally.

I know everyone likes to make a buck, but I will make the file I am creating
for the stripes, and SS decal a public DXF so anyone can access it.

Dont suppose our other elusive stripe making member would post the DXF?
Save me a heap of time and trouble. [or email it to me]

Cheers, Leakey

One thing that I am not into doing is under cutting with in the industry, I want to make that perfectly clear. If you guys already have a preferred supplier, then by all means tick with them. I know I have suppliers I buy from purely because I like the service and they make me coffee when I turn up and over charge me.
Each to their own, but having said that, I do give anything taht I havent tried a go. Then again Ive done a few things..
Cheers

If the SS Stripe guy has spent a bit of time and effort creating this file I would respect him for it, although some work is pretty easy to do, to get the perfect look takes time.
I wont ripoff/copy someone elses work theyve created from scrath, thats just not ethical, it might be business in some cases but still unethical to me, I understand what it takes to create stuff.
Just so everyones clear where I stand, sure Id love to make a buck as someone said but at the end of the day I want to goto sleep knowing I never ripped anyones work off. Id only use if Id paid rights to the creator or have purchased it.

Gotta have standards somewheres!

WTF?

So if I make my own DXF you wont cut it?

Ooookaaayy then, I'll use my usual vinyl gal.

I thought this forum was for people helping like minded people.
ie. Torana nuts!

If I do the yards making the DXF, and wish to post it for everyone's use,
then that's my way of helping out other forum members. They still have
to go to a vinyl cutter to get them cut. I'm not cutting anyone's lunch!!

This is getting way too complex.

If I make my own files how is that unethical?!!

Sorry I didnt make myself very clear. As that is you giving me the work, different circumstance. Its all about copyright and permission to use and that kinda thing.

No need, [to apologise] I am having a shit day...

Sorry 'I bit in to this'. Didn't mean to put the sites on you! LOL

As a design professional myself, I know better than most
the feeling and legality of having work/ideas/files ripped off.

I blew it out of proportion STS71.
