Hi

I am having trouble finding the short (approx 1 cm) stainless steel strip that sits on top of the B post of a 4 door torana. I think only the SLR has the stainless steel trim. I need 2 one for each side of the car. Any idea where i could get some?

Thanks

Paul

Gidday Paul and welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look around the site and start using the "wanted" section of the "swap meet" otherwise your threads will be deleted by the mooderasers. :D

I believe some of the UCs came with that crome as well.

I've gotta arrange the same thing for my car, I think I might end up just getting a random damaged chrome trim and cutting it up a bit; cutting the corners out and bending the ends in, bit of alluminium foil inside the edges etc. But I don't know how it will come up yet. Nobody seems to have them :P

Hi
I have never seen this mould on any other torana except LX. All the UCs i have seen with door moulds have no mould on the b pillar and any LHs have the crome around the roof rails or window frames.
The little bastard are easy to break as i had a smashed LX i took to the tip and broke both b pillar moulds trying to remove them.
Hopefully rares might make them soon

I believe they're chrome plated plastic, they have a sprue which pushes into the little hole there so many fell out when the glue got weak.

100% correct as above, they are made from plastic and have a single “pin” on the back to locate them on the pillar. I’ll have a search to see if I can locate any in my garage.

Wouldn't it be easy to make them out of a little bit of aluminium if they break easily and are hard to find?
