Ford T5 confirmation

Hey guys i am just wanting to get some confirmation in regards to the Ford T5 gearbox. I have read a few T5 posts and many mention that the Ford T5 gear shifter comes through the original hole in a LX Torana (requiring no cutting). Can anyone confirm this? Also what series Ford is this T5 from? Cheers

i have a t5 from an eb falcon in my uc i had a commodore t5 with a cracked case but good gears so i got an eb box with a striped clustershaft swaped the gears over and used commodore bell housing the diference is in the extension housing the shifter sits about an inch forward of the commodore and the mount sits further back. i had to cut probably 2" back of the original hole to get the shifter through. im guesing the lx has a similar shifter hole so you will probably have to do some cuting.

ford input is 194mm and the Holden V8 is 212mm.... Don't ask me how I remember that.....
It is an expensive memory! :fool:

If you were to buy a Ford T5, a Holden bellhousing and Holden input shaft, would that fit in a LH sedan?

If so, what crossmember do you use? Is there anything else?

The Ford box will only fit on the VR commonwhore bellhousing.

But.....then the input shafts are a different length.

Roodog should be chiming in soon...............LOL

Can you put the Fraud rear extension on the commonwhore box?
I will let you know.

At this stage i can only tell you that the FORD T5 is shorter than the commodore one.
It does fit straight thru the existing hole in the tunnel.
If you give Dellows a ring they can give you a price list of the things you need.

I do have all this info but it is all the a very dead PC.
