What shocks are you running matt?

Throw a set of konis at it (2-300 for a fron pair) with the springs and you will be laughing.

Cutting springs is one of those things, most people who have done it are impartial, those who havent usually think its the worst thing in the world.

each to their own hey.

I got stiff KYB Shocks in it now chris... Heaps firmer than the old monroe ones i had in...

I have a few ideas about what to do now though... Thinking i might go the A9X ones in the future... If i don't like them, i can always compress them a touch to get the ride height i desire!

I've done it to an old Celica years ago, and don't recommend it. I think MRLXSS is right, it actually did feel softer, until it hit the bumpstops!
It looked good but handled and rode like a POS!
I've also been told that it changes the stress points in the spring and weakens it, which may lead to breakage... never seen one break though.

What's the thickness of the spring?  Are they thicker than usual and do they sit in okay?

Does anyone use K-Mac springs any more or are they not as good as they once were?

Are your guards cut.

I have Pedders low's on mine with cut guards and i can only put about 250kgs in the back before the body sits on the tyre, my guards aren't cut very high so i suggest if you need to cut, then cut as high as possible.

When it is ready for the road i am looking at putting Kings raised under it, i love the lowered look but around here it's not practical.

If you still want a pick i can post some.

interesting read, our hatch is only 60000k's new, and sits down on the drivers side when there is one person in it, and no I'm not that fat hahaha, also, with the genuine wheels no scrubbing on the front spoiler but we added 14" HOTWIRES, and 215 tyres on front major rubbing , so this week we are looking at replacing all springs and shocks as well as bushes, looking at pedders, std height they say it raises 30% on std now, and putting Monroe shocks in std

We want it to handle as weekend cruiser, with nice set of bf Goodrich under it, I dont wont a 4x4 look but as we are heading to toranarama in Sept with family  don't wont it scrubbing out all the way up and back,

Thoughts ??
