I actually avoided using an LED as I understood it does not have the same draw as a filament bulb and therefore would not trigger the alternator.

It is amazing how difficult it is to find a 2W T10 bulb! Supercheap sell a 3W although I ordered from a China supplier to get 2W and it ended up being a T5 (about half the size). Fortunately if I spread the wires out slightly it will still sit in the holder and the circuit is working fine.

Would a faulty reg cause the indicator light not to come on?

I’ve completed the upgrade and bought a 2w globe but now she won’t light up with the new alternator.

Disregard, turns out an intermittent broken wire will cause the charge light to not work!

What type of bulb did you end up using for the job?
