Are gtr and xu1 alternaters differant to what was fitted to the 4dr versions?

Is there a special pulley that was only fitted to them?

I thought they all were fitted with a 35amp bosch or lucus setup, with an external regulator.

Hi

The Gregory's manual specifies a 35 amp 14AC Lucas or a Bosch U-KI (internal or external diode). As far as I know, only the XU1 was fitted with the larger pulley.

What are the size differances between the two pulleys?

Hi

The XU1 pulley has a 3 inch pitch diameter. As I understand, pitch diameter is not the same as the normal meaning of diameter. The following site explains.

http://www.gizmology...ulleysbelts.htm

I have no info as to the pitch diameter of a standard pulley but it would obviously be smaller. The actual diameter of the standard pulley seems to be about 2.6 inches on my vernier guage.

As a matter of fact I am trying to get the correct pully for my XU1. I imagine they would be pretty rare.
