yep its a push button 904 with a clutch :) . i didnt buy it but dad did, was too good to pass up. it could just be coincedince but i think it may have been behind a holden 6 before, a m20 bellhousing spigots perfectly on box and input shaft length is spoton and already has the shortened extension housing :spoton:. uses a holden throw out bearing but input shaft is grey motor crash box and has about 20 degrees of twist in it ! so its had a bit of power in front of it.
and nope its not the ebay one andrew

started her up this arvo on meth and it sounds mint!
all i did to the carbs was change the needles, nothing else was touched. hit the key and she fired up straight away and mixtures were spot on.
sounds alot angrier and throttle response is heaps better with the ram tubes i got made.
the shed smells like candy methanol additive :buttrock:
should be going racing within the month. will get some picci's

Good stuff. What needles are you using? Are your ram tubes straight or tapered?

it sounds like a girls car in the video, camera isnt that good.
im gonna bang it on the dyno soon, it fills the sump with meth pretty quickly if you let it idle but it burns off pretty quickly. i also cant get it to idle below 1100 whereas before it would sit on 700 happily?
needles are UVN warrenm i posted where to get at the end of last page.
did a pretty good 3rd gear skid out the back of work but on petrol it wouldnt do it

If it's filling the sump at idle, it's probably a bit rich. The idle part of my needles are almost the same as my petrol needles. I'm using some .090" needles AAA that i built up with solder in the idle area, then turned them down in the lathe. The idle is higher when on alcy & your right, petrol just doesn't seem to have the poke.:3gears:

yehp i reckon it is rich, meth can be up to 10% too rich and not affect performance.
have you run yours at the strip on meth yet?

Cool EH mate.

Just a quick question about the fabrication of your ram tubes.

Any idea how they swaged the end section over like that????

I have been thinking of making a set of tubes for SU,s also but was going to machine them out of alloy.

Dont know if it effects the air flow much when it comes into the carb or not but there seems to be a fair bit of variation in style of the ones that i have looked at.

From a rolled lip like yours to a injection style trumpet to a straight out tube guess the dyno would tell the story??

Perfect bell mouth has a radius of 1/3rd the diameter of the pipe from what i have been told.

Those new ones of Kevs look like a bit of alloy rod bent and then welded around the pipe with the inside then cleaned up??

Cheers.

nope the tubes are just seamed exhaust pipe, my exhaust bloke put them in the press, use a holden/chev v8 harmonic balancer (they have a radius on the backside) and pumped them until they turned out that shape, i just polished the seam out on the inside with a sandpaper burr.

yes fenz i would say so i made these because something would be better than nothing, wanted to give it some sort of radius instead of having a 90 degree turn at the end, but i have a feeling they may be too long so ill pull them off on the dyno and have a looksy.

thats interesting warren, what reg and fuel pump do you use?

I got my ram tubes form here http://www.jntperformance.com.au/ I just had to make the mounting plate to suit the SU's.
Holley Blue pump, Mallory return regulator & 1/2" fuel line.
