I was determined to get my sheetmetal rockers on today and it's been a nightmare day.

I polished them up a little and noticed that the cylinder that the bolt goes through had a hole in it.

So I was able to get that sorted however managed to snap one of the rocker bolt heads off in the process. After finally getting the bolt sorted I put the passenger side on.

Finally when it came to the drivers side I realised that it hits on the booster.

So after all of that I haven't achieved a hell of a lot today

Alright so I think I’ve said this about 10 times in this thread over 6 years but the Torana is finally getting there. *touch wood*

It’s been at a workshop for the past few months and I’ve been driving down to Pinjarra every Tuesday night to work on it..

The mechanic that is helping me looked it over and basically said it was a big mess of missing bolts so we stripped it from the radiator back and tidied everything up.

The whole braking system has been refurbished or replaced, exhaust has been wrapped and repairs done to the shoddy work from the exhaust shop, engine has been tidied up and now has all matching bolts etc, steering sorted and more.

The carby has now been rebuilt and the trans cooler has been mounted so will be finishing off that side of it on Thursday.

I’ve been accepted into Motorvation with the car so the deadline is January but I’d like to have it sorted and ready to drive before Christmas

Looking good!

Nothing like a deadline to get things done.

Sometimes all you need is a little Motorvation  :badabing:

Hi all,

It's been a while since I've posted on the forums.

I made it to Motorvation with the 253 but had problem after problem with it. It turns out that whoever Installed the cam installed it wrong and caused some damage. After this I had a friend help me out with finding an engine and am now running a healthy 308.

I've had some trouble with this engine running a little hotter than I'd like but still have managed to get a few years of cruising and enjoying the car.

I've recently installed a reverse cowl with a hole the length of the scoop (I've kept the bonnet bracing) to let heat out and it has made a huge difference although waiting to see how it goes over a WA Summer.

The plan ongoing is to mini tub the car and hopefully fit some 295/50/15's and also install a cam and electric water pump.

It will need re-painting at some point but I'm trying to hold off on that.
