Yeh mate, Pure Race cars are fine! Heathcote isnt "ANDRA" spec... So you can get away with a bit more... (ie you dont need a ANDRA licence to run 10s etc)

Because of the smallish amount of numbers... It looks like we'll have to run it on a Test and Tune Day.

We need 50 odd cars to hire the track... It looks like Eastside cruisers might be booking the Track, but they do a joint day with Southern Street Machiners (The guys that organise the Knox night) So they will have no problems getting the people along.

So far we would be lucky to have 10-15 people saying they'll come haha. We need to triple that figure still!

Has anybody been to a T&T since Calder has re-opened?

If anyone objects to running this day with the Eastside Cruisers, stand up and say so

I'm not gonna race at Heathcote twice, and I'm in ESC as well as here, along with a fair few others. I think it's ridiculous not to combine, especially considering we won't have the track to ourselves anyway

How many cars do they run? Roughly!? Some Test Tune days are flat OUT!!! Others are dead, If esc and southern only have 50ish cars it might not be so bad but if your talkin 70 plus.. Surely we could get 50? What about askin another small club? Maybe even the torana club pushin it thru them?
IVe always liked the torana days simply cos its run after run after run after run.. And a few more runs, every tim i have taken the hatch ive pretty much run it all day, at other events u end up to much time waiting, but heath u might be onto somthing there!
Cheers
Ed.

It's not about hiring it. The entry fee is set but you need a minimum number of cars

Eastside realistically won't get more than 25 I think. It's a good club but they have drag days fairly often and most members aren't hugely into drag racing. Fairly understandable... I probaby wouldn't wanna race in several consecutive years if I hadn't made any changes to my vehicle etc

I don't think that Eastside, us and Southern Streeters will even be packed. I think it will be perfect.

Speak up if you don't want it, I was talking to Brett & Deb at Calder and they were both keen on that, I think it's the way to go

Yeah, I can raise that as well. Half of Eastside is part of this forum and visa-versa anyway!

There are probably like and extra 5-10 off here who aren't eastside members who will come along, and that really isn't adding all that much anyway!

I also know a lot of the guys from Melbourne have been talking about joining eastside for a long time as well! So it would be a good chance to meet other members and finally sign up! (The club is already full of Torry's! HAHA YAY!)

Being a Torana nut, personally I love the idea of combining the drag day between forums and clubs. A couple of years ago, I dragged my car 2 weeks in a row at Heathcote - the GMH-Torana day, and the Eastside Cruisers day. Great fun, but very expensive for me since I drove it there both times.

I just wonder what the non-Torana nuts will think of the idea. I'm no longer on the Eastside committee, and have no input/involvement or pull there anymore, so Matt/Heath you will need to run this idea past someone like Grant and get him to discuss it with the current committee. The idea may be canned before it even gets off the ground. At a minimum, I do know that ESC are looking to run their day combined with Southern Street Machiners (the crew who run the Knox City cruise nights), same as last time. We have started an "inter-club" challenge with trophies and stuff. But that wouldn't impact these forums being involved. It's too hard for either club these days to constantly pull 50+ cars year after year. But combined, it seems to work well, with around 50-60 cars.

As Matt said, there doesn't seem to be more than approx 10 GMH-Torana members willing to race... so numbers-wise, it could all work awesome. Pulling 50 cars is a big ask. You could get together 25 cars, and double the cost....??? But it would be very boring for spectators with low numbers racing.

The other options you guys have, is run it with the VTC - if you wanted to make it a "Torana-only" event.... or better yet, you need to develop a relationship with another forum, and start up some kind of annual inter-forum challenge. Like a GMH-Torana VERSUS FORD FORUM drag day... something like that would be awesome.

I could flood various mediums to get more torana's to come... But to be honest i don't have to time to organise stuff with Heathcote etc... I can spam various forums and email/sms friends who i know will come (Who have toranas) But i don't have the spare time to liase with heathcote.

So is someone else willing to take these reigns?
