just noticed this thread, good on you.

saw a solar car project being built on a mini corvette shape.

built chassis
made fine chicken wire body attached to frame with screws.
shaped wire to within couple mm,or so.
papermashay???ed it from inside
fiberglassed outside onto wire when dry
washed out paper
fiberglassed inside, sandwiching wire
then bogged to final shape
paint
original plan was this was going to be the mould, but was light enough they didnt bother.

maybe ideas for for next body, may get away without the paper if you used heavy enough fiberglass as first coat.

tafe does fibrous plaster courses

With the new technology available, it would be a lot quicker these days to make a fibreglass mold using a Biante 1:18 model as a base.

Now this is a serious comment, I think you could sell Aussie muscle car pedal cars. There are alot of proud father's with too much cash that would pay a premium for one of these or you could work on bulk and sell thousands for $450 each. If you did a XY phase 3 aswell you might never need to work again. Cheers Aaron.

Don't hold your breath.

This unfortunantly should clear up any questions you may have.

Yes it;s been on the back burner for sure. Almost on the other end of the worst possible past few years I could ever imagine possible to happen to anyone let alone myself.

Even though there are other ways I could do this much quicker I do enjoy the mental challenge.I'm planning to get back into it very soon as the weather warms up again.

The clay is almost impossible to use when cold.
