Im sure there was a article on this in the Torviki but cant seem to find it?

I bought one of the UC stalks from Rare spares But having trouble working out how to fit it, I know I need to cut a section out of the steering column bit but there doesnt seem to be room on the inside for it? Anyone got any pics or know where the old thread went?

Also need to find out what wire is for what on the plug?

I'll upload the word doc when I get a chance.
Unfortunately I moved it around a bit and it somehow got saved in a format I can't pull the pictures from.

I'll get my act together soon eh?

Grant..

And I cant push it down any further then this:

So is my indicator or steering column different to others? or did other people have to cut this section from the steering column? its just that it was never mentioned in the write-up

I used the UC coffee pot with mine, there may be a difference between them.

Stripped a LX hatch today and I found its coffee pot was slightly different and doesnt have the section where the switch was fowling on the LH one... Bugger I had polished up my LH one too!

A bit off topic sorry, but does anyone have the problem with the indicator stalk breaking at the cheap plastic shaft or in the cast alluminium mechanism?? My experience is they work for a few months on my daily then they fail. I'm not being heavy handed or anything like that. It just seems there are too many week points. Any Thoughts :)

yep thats right, i worked at a wrecking yard and soon pick up on the things that go wrong. these indicator stalks would always fail, esp. with early commodores. but also the replacement ones were usually made in taiwan or china and definitely fail.
