Very nice mate.

Personally i wouldent be in the market for something like that because i can make one myself, but perhaps some people would be interested.

Cheers.

Yeah very nice. I already have a droptank with built-in 1/2" pickup, but if not, I'd be keen on one of those. I reckon there could definitely be a market for them for people with standard tanks wanting the larger pickup.

Looks like a good job.

I am currently doing this on my sender.
My drop tank has got a hole for the standard Torana fuel sender and ive upgraded to 1/2 inch lines.
I imagine that there would be a market for this kind of thing. throw a few up and c how they go.

Just be careful, legally you can't use copper as a fuel line, so selling them could be a problem. Make them out of aluminum or stainless.

I dont know if things have changed, but my engineer wouldn't pass stainless fuel lines, due to the stainless 'work hardening' & fracturing.

what do you make them out of then ?
I have alloy fuel line but i would think that you cant weld the alloy fuel line to the old steel sender face? so i got stainless steel, but sounds like that should not be used.

What material is the original ones made of? , its magnetic but looks as if its coated or something.

Funny that because aluminium (as with all metals, ferrous and non-ferrous) does the same thing.

Doesnt (some types) of copper turn to green mush
if left sitting for a while?(with petrol in it)
and clog filter and stop car.

I made a whole new 1/2 inch pickup with mounting plate, and made a seperate hole in the tank, less work as you dont have to modify sender unit.

This also let me use the factory feed hose on the sender as a return line.

I just removed my copper pick up pipe after over 10yrs in the tank,(replaced fuel tank) it still looked almost as good as when i installed it so i used it again in the new tank (no green at all)

Massive thread dig, but I did this mod today. Took all of an hour to have it dismantled and new line bent up and silver soldered to plate. Only thing I did different was remove float etc and soldered to new line. It's not pretty but it works.

I use zinc coated mild steel line as per factory lines, not as easy to bend when you start getting up to 1/2" but its doable, safe and legal
