Hi everyone, thanks for the great info and pics. Can anyone identify this seat insert trim for me? It’s on an SS Hatch trim code 65V. Is it factory and if so does anyone know if it’s still available / best place to chase? Thanks for the help...Attached File  9B282ED5-3F0B-4681-AC53-27BE4151AD04.jpeg   243.34K   4 downloads

65V Sienna is nearly impossible to find. I know people who’ve tried to find 65 trim to fix Premier and GTS trim, and no go. Even if you find some getting the insert for an SS is hard too. Best bet is to make it Black or even Chamois/Black and live with it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. So would the insert be dark sienna as a contrast or the whole seat be simply sienna?

Thanks S Pack. I’ve seen a few like this on Papaya Hatches I think. Does this look right?

According to the trim data in Torana Tough, 65A in LX 8VD models had Sienna vinyl with Sienna 'golfball' inserts in seats and doors, not Dark Sienna.

The seats and door trims in that Tuxedo SS appear to be correct for 65V not 65A.

Perhaps it is impossible to get the Sienna golfball vinyl?

This one is 65A as well Dave, although using a camera flash inside a dark shed has disguised the colour somewhat.

Hi all, hopefully I can join this party and sort my thoughts out haha. I have a 1976 ss hatchback mint julep, I believe the seats to be chamois with herringbone inserts and I’m taking that from the tough torana book information. I actually really like the idea of that scheme in the seats as I haven’t seen it before but clarity would be good.
These are the codes. LX8VD77 1915-60B 568-17779. If I could be enlightened that would be great. Cheers.

-60B seems to be a topic of contention... No one has found any definitive evidence to state -60B is Chevron or Herringbone??? My -60Y is Chevron cloth. 60 is obviously Chamois. But the B??? Is an SS Ive not seen any publications about this. Im sure something exists.

If it is Chevron. You're going to have an extremely hard time finding any and may wish to chose Herringbone instead which is much easier to obtain.

Thanks for the info, those other threads are interesting. It’s a bit of a mystery, I do like the chamois and b&w herringbone combo though. I’m a bit far away from any trim work yet but it’s food for thought. Cheers

According to the trim charts in Torana Tough trim code 60B option XS9 in 8VC & 8UH Torana SL (up to August 1977) consisted of Chamois vinyl with black & white Herringbone cloth insert.

From August 1977 Trim code 60B option XS9 changed to Chamois vinyl with chamois chevron cloth insert however it is only listed for 8VD69 models.

I suspect Torana Tough may be missing some trim information regarding what was available in which models.

In this other thread it is mentioned that the car with 60B was a one off.

I have come across another one. It was ordered by Bob Morris for his wife. 65B on the plate, but the inserts are Sienna crushed velvet.(or a similar material)
