front or rear?

Are you going to replace the bailey channel rubber?

My passenger window use to just fall out on its own when you slammed the door! But i fixed that.

Best way, just thinking off the top of my head.. Remove the door trim (To gain access) and undo the bolts to the window winder regulator thing (Just undo all the bolts if you need to completely strip for paint)

You'll be then able to wriggle the window out, once its off its runners. You'll see what i mean when you get to this stage... Just put it on an angle, and pull it out from the top!

Also, start with the window full DOWN.

Front dooors.
Remove door trims....wind window fully up.....remove 4 bolts holding reg on..remove 2 bolts holding the slide on....remove slide....reach inside door & slide the window winder stalk in...slide the reg forward until the roller slips out of the guide...slide reg backwards until roller is out of the other guide....remove the reg. Lower the window by hand...tilt the glass[rear] upwards....remove to outside of window frame. Note: Having someone hold the glass inplace while you remove the reg is good idea.

Rears are a little more complicated.

Rear doors.
Remove trim.....wind window fully up...remove the nut holding the 'upright guide' adjuster....remove the screw at the top of the guide....wind the adjuster in until you can get it inside the door. Tilt the upright slightly sideways...Unscrew the adjuster & remove it...undo the 3 bolts holding the reg in...slide the window winder stalk inside....slide the reg forwards until the roller comes off the guide...remove reg. Fully lower the window... remove the bailey channel rubber from upright....tilt the upright forward...slide/pull the rest of the bailey channel rubber out....remove the upright....remove the glass. 1/4 glass simply pulls out with the rubber attatched. [Leave the 1/4 glass rubber on the glass. that way it wont shrink]

Rears are much the same as Coolngroovy described but to gain more leaverage, the bar between the window and the quater window has to come out (screws top and bottom) then remove the quater window (should theoretically slide out to the front of the car). once that is out the rear glass can be tilted in the same mannor as the front to remove it from the runners.

i have to do mine over the weekend (if not tonight) as well so if ya get stuck ill take some photos and post them up.

Josh.

Hi All,

I know I'm reading this almost 10 years after It started but this thread has been a great help.

Took me a few goes at reading to understand everything but has worked a treat on my LC.

Thanks,

Rob.
