i just saw on the cover of a torana workshop manual that there was a UC SL/T model torana.?!?! had no idea they made a torry with a factory turbo, thought that the only factory turbo car Holden produced was the VL. So i want to know more about them, how many were made, how many are still known to be around, and if anyone is sellin a UC SL/T engine! Posted Image

They were dealer specials...made by Suttons....do a search on here for SL/T, there are a few good threads on them.

Didn't they bring out an SS hatch with a factory turbo? Or was that a dealer option too. Have seen one and was told it was factory.

Oooooo........a new contender?
The info I have is that the VL didn't go turbo until around August 86 (6 months after release)
The Piazza was April 86

It was just a strata 2 kit on a 202, not much point looking out for a "genuine" motor.

Cheers.

I was going the say the Piazza was a GMH model and was on sale before the VL turbo but DaveLH beat me to it. I know it's not technically a GMH vehicle but neither is a 6cyl VL.
The SL/T UC's are no more a factory car than a CDT Gemini.

Yes GMH built a HX GTS for a motor show with a single turbo'ed 308. It was a real flash looking thing with Pontiac snoflake rims from memory? I think the car still exists too.

^Is that the light blue coloured one?

I've read something about that but can't remember where. I think it still exists as well.

In the Norm Darwin Book, The History of Holden 1917

Production Figures on the UC Torana's is 55,007
So that would be all UC's Models in Total

On the LX Torana's
There were 41,375 (Sedans)
And 8527 (Hatchbacks)

I wonder out of the 8527 LX Hatch's how many left these days.
