hey john just a little question about the inner guards, i'm not sure if anyone has asked this already but i'm curious to know what happens with your chassis number if you replace the inner guard with a new one?

xu1-043 craig,, im not going to bullshit you mate and i really dont have the power to answer this question in the right manner,, so i will give you my view, if i was going to replace an inner guard on an original lc/lj gtr or xu1 first i would take my car to a torana car club, show them the problem, have them take pics and file them pics, then i would take both original and new inner guards to a place that could replicate the numbers.

if the torana car club had other ways of fixing the problem, there would be no doubt i would try that first.

cheers gong

I would think your state transport body would be happy so long as you keep them in the loop.....and as John said, take lots of pics and document it.

Don't do anything before speaking with the RTA.

BTW it's Repro - reproduction.
Repo (reposession) is when the Sheriff goes round to spiro's house and takes all his stuff away.

Grant..

I agree with you,but I have also heard repro panels referred to as "repops"

hi john only just seen this .im 3yrs late but im going to ask anyway.are those scuttle panels still available

or were they a one off thing.i was just going to cut out the window channel right along and try and find one as my

guards are still on.but im now looking for the whole thing and cut through it level with the guards both

sides as this is much easier and do a better job and less to cover on inside to stop rust forming

      cheers Maz
