Thats a beautiful looking car, you have done a great job with it. :spoton:

The sandlewood interior does look good, certainly something different to the usual black.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven't been in here for so long.
Attached is a pic of the car finished.

Unfortunately I've had a house and shed fire where all the house contents shed, harley and the beloved torana has been all lost.

I have salvage of whats left of the car. Its completely burnt out and even the tailshaft has exploded. The tags on the rad support are untact and also the allow radiator seems to be too.

I guess my question is is it going to be worth repairing ? Looks like its going to need a roof cut, door skins bonnet and boot at least. Let alone seats and full interior.

Open to peoples options and or options.

Cheers,

Daniel

Can't imagine what this would feel like. On one hand my head says re-build. But that's a big investment in time, space and money. Not to mention mental anguish if you don't like doing the work. Is it an option to buy the wreck plus another car to build one good one from two?

Wishing you better luck from here on. Steve

Agree with Jonno, your family is most important, but losing the car ect, would be heart breaking, hopefully positive things come from this for you mate. Gary.

Thanks everyone for their well wishes.
As Jonno and Gary said, main thing is all the family is safe with no injuries.

Has anyone had any experience with fire damaged cars ? Am I wasting my time thinking all bolt on panels to replace, fix whole in floor from tailshaft, blast, prime, paint and go again ????

Cheers,

Danel

I haven't, but i nearly bought a burnt shell, you would definitely have to strip very well everywhere i reckon & very good epoxy primer & paints. Personally i would only be using the sikkens system. But i think it'd be do-able mate. Hopefully you got an insurance payment, that would fund the bodywork at least ? Gary.

I wouldn't. Steel in that condition becomes like paper to bend once cleaned up. Having said that, I have used partially burnt panels before.
