These are the chaasi bolts out of 2 different cars.
Left one is out of my xu1 that was built in Brissi and the right is out of a 72 Adelaide sedan I just wrecked.

These are the bolts that bolt down the front cross member again the left is out of my xu1 very similar but the right one has a little circle in the middle.
So is this a 72/73 thing or a Adelaide/Brisbane thing.

The markings are to do with the tensile strength of the bolt, less lines means lower tensile strength.

I know this is an old thread...
I am trying to confirm these front cross member bolt markings.
I have been shown images (attached) of a 6/73 adelaide car chassis having the bolt markings without the centre dot..
I have been informed a Dot Marked Bolt is an Adelaide fitted bolt. Brisbane cars having no Dot.
Then again as i have read, could the different markings be purely tensile strengths?? Dot bolts higher tensile.
Do any owners of 1973 Adelaide built LJ Toranas have front upper chassis Xmember bolts fitted, without central dot markings??
Thanks
Jason.
