Just check the size of the needles, as I fitted a set 18 months ago that were supplied from Midels & marked as 5H with new jets, jets were .090" needles were actually .100". Drilled the jets to .100" & all ok.

Sounds like an incorrectly coded batch of needles for sure.
Wouldn't it have been better to take the needles back and complain? Unless someone lets them know the needles are incorrect they will keep on selling them.
I would also say that if the needles are not made to the original 5H specs your fuel mixture will probably be incorrect plus add to that the fact you drilled the 90 thou jets out to 100 thou.
Have you had the fuel mixture checked across the whole rev range with an exhaust gas analyzer? If it's all working fine then that's good but if the mixture is too lean or too rich you could be creating yourself some engine problems in the long term.
