Thanks for the post Woodsy.

I grew up about 1km from that track and played football at Whalan Reserve.

Although by the early-mid 70's the track was pretty much overgrown, the main straight was still there as it was an air strip during the second world war. When we got our licenses we used to fly down the straight (which by then was a fine crushed gravel) and pull handbrake turns at 60mph. Heaps of fun and pretty safe as it was very flat and the gravel was slippery.

The top part of the circuit was made into a bike track but last time I was there (about 10 years ago) it was all a mess (like the rest of Mt Druitt)

love these clips where there are no armco's or seatbelts. Big balls them fellas.

I think part of the main straight is now the entrance road to Whalan Reserve.

Spot on Craig, the main entrance straight is where we used to have fun.

Sorry if im wrong ppl, but by what ive read is that the track was totally destroyed having a plow
ran through and no one can pin point where any of the track originally was. But if you have driven
it, i may well be wrong.

I read with interest about this track at the Bathurst Motor Racing Museum. They have plaques in the alcove thing to your left as you enter of all Australian Tracks, both past and present. Very interesting read.

There was a race track, where the farmer owner plowed the track in, but can't remember if it is this track or not. The dude got fined for it, but it was the end of the track.

^^ I agree. Post them up John.

This photo shows that the main straight of the track is still there and is definitely the current entrance road. The entry to the area is at the top right but not shown in the picture.

You can see the bike track at the lower end of the football fields. Next time I'm past I will take some pictures of how it looks now.
