They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

For all those forum members and their family members who have, are or intend to serve to protect our country and our way of life.

On behalf of the forum, We Thankyou.

Good luck to those overseas and god speed on a speedy and safe return home.

I hope everyone take some time, even privately, tomorrow to reflect on the sacrifices of our fellow Australian and New Zealanders, and those of other nationalities who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Grant..

Which ship are you on? HMAS Arunta? I went on that as part of the Navy Famil Course. Still supposed to do a sea trip from Sydney to Jervis Bay at some time, just need to find some of the elusive stuff they call time.

Reda9x,
Mate with you....Our flag is ours, to give it up is to give up who we are.
We are Australians, those we welcome, are here hopefully to become Australians.
They should be willing to fight and stand proud under our flag.
To change it, in my opinion, would disrespect every man and women who has fought
for our country. And that includes our indiginineous brothers, who stood proudly
and fought , even unrecognized in our earliest wars.
I know we did fight under other flags, geez Canada only got theirs in the 50's or 60's.
BUT, we kick arse, and should be proud of our kids and men doing that for us.
Today my gut turns when I see cultural differences as a reason for violence.
Todays wars are of a different nature and perhaps that is why the kids
of today struggle to see the validity of what there forefathers fought for.
.......FREEDOM, a land to live in and raise a family free of fear and repression. Pehaps
our governments have international corporations have stole that back.
Anyway, that's a ramble.
Cheers
Muz

I'm not from Gilgandra, we went with work, but my Great Grandfather was one of the original Cooees that marched from Gil.
