I thought the idea was to go back to Heathcote about 6 months after the last outing. Nothing seems to have been organised so far. If it is 6 months after, this puts it mid September. That's AFL Finals month. Anyway, I'll hand it over to everybody else for some feedback.

I don't think anyone has contacted Heathcote about it to date. Since my car will not be ready in four months I'll merely be a spectator again (I will have my L's though, w0000t!), and therefore the date doesn't bother me because I have nothing to prepare.

Maybe 6mnth intervals are a little short...

No point contacting Heathcote until a date has been agreed on and we have enough interest. Neither of those two things have happened yet.

chopper i think the problem is, yes everyone had a ball at the last one, but its costly to head back up there for most of us, that and its been easter and other major car events on lately, the last thing on all of our minds was even thinking about another drag day.

i know for a fact it will no doubt run, the feedback that was posted said that, but maybe just let people get over this crazy last few weeks and when it quietens down a bit during winter, everyone will be more keen to figure out when we want it again.

and also i know tiny and brett did heaps of work last time, no stopping you from getting the ball rolling?

just my view

I've started this thread, haven't I? And as I stated in the last post, we need enough interest and a date before we can confirm anything with Heathcote. Apart from December 2006 and January 2007, I'm free most weekends.

Maybe a group of us could head up to a Winton fun day. Its already pre organised so we don't have to do anything but rock up. I know this wouldn't be the same but it needs less organisation.

That's a top suggestion IMO. We could have a GMH-Torana.com drag day and track day each year :P

Let's just make sure that it's well into Spring so that the weather is more reliable to be dry.

There's no hope of me making anything in october, Simmo and i have to go back to perth for a family do....

I Cant make any commitments this time ( Hence why ive been so quiet), as with the new businesses beginning, and trying to stay afloat with money as it is, things are pretty tight!

I'm more than happy to help out if anything needs doing from here, but i just cant promise too much at this stage!

I'd love to come down, we had an absolute BLAST at the last one, but i cant commit at this stage! Sorry!

Personally my thoughts would be to make it in october/november as lately even november has been relatively cool compared to full summer, and the heat is something you'd want to avoid at Heathcote.. Ive seen how hot it can get! ( and that was a mild day!).

Great to see the interest, Hopefully things work out that i can come along!

Cheers.

By rights, if we follow the same format as last time, the organisation side of things will be identical to last time. No point making things harder than needed.

Sounds like it's time to enter stage 2 of organising this. Can a Mod/Admin edit the thread to include a poll with the following options?

When do you want to race?

Sept 2006
Oct 2006
Nov 2006
Any of the above
None of the above

Tiny: You have to be there, you just have to, even if we have to start a [/I]tiny donation box[/I],.. for 2 things travelling cost and a NOS kit, LOL.
Why?:.... There's gonna be a red monaro there,.... a 10 second red monaro from Melbourne that we gotta beat :D

If i can make it.. i'll be there with bells on!! the last one was just such an AWESOME day!!
