I measured my standard diff at 1446 mm.

According to the Torana owners manual the LX rear tack is 54.4" (1382 mm and the factory rims have an offset of +1.25" ( 31.8 mm ).

In theory the diff width should be 1382 mm + ( 31.8 mm x 2 ) = 1445.6 mm although this figure does not allow for the thickness of the brake drums.

Sorry to revive an old thread. But when you say flange to flange are you referring to the bolt up face of rim or flange of diff housing?

Bolt up face.

At the inspection centres they measure across the tyre tread.

Get it made 25mm shorter so you can fit slightly wider tyres without any rubbing. Standard width sucks for anything bigger than 225's. .

Just be aware that if you get the diff shortened, you can't LEGALLY fit standard wheels any more since they would be under the factory track measurements.

As per NCOP Section LS Tyres, Rims, Suspension and Steering, paragragh 4.2.9 the manufacturer's wheel track can be increased up to 25mm but must not be reduced.

If your getting it made shorter... pick your brakes first... you may need to relocate the shock for caliper clearance
