There was an article on Flynn's wrecking yard in an early edition of Restored Cars back in the mid '70's, so the word on it has been out for some time!

Don't worry the word has been out for years but the guy is clever and knows exactly what the stuff it worth - he also prefers to sell whole rather than part out. A mate of mine pulled a FC vanette out of there about 6 years ago. Pretty much rust free and quite rare.

I first saw it in about 1981 on a trip to the snow and it hasn't really changed much.

Its better left there anyway as an attraction. Sort of an outdoor museum but Chinese steel mills will get it all eventually so go have a look as soon as you can.

^^^^ What Craig A said.

And he won't give you price (or the item for that matter) on the day. You have to pick what you want and then he'll get back to you a week later. It's for good reason that all that stuff is still there...

Great photos - thanks. Next time I'm up that way I'll gladly pay my $10 for a look around.

When you think of all the cars that have gone to the tip/scrap over the years, it's nice to know there is an alternative.

I worked at the Snowy Hydro in the early 1990's.
Drove past there weekly.
Always wanted to have a gander, never had time.
Reckon all the good ones would be long gone now. Still worth a look.

As cars get rarer and more valuable what's considered useful changes. I hope someone keeps it going. There is a similar yard in SA but the owner is in his 80s with no real succession plan. Birdwood Mill National Motor Museum has been purchasing a few vehicles lately from it.

Is that so he can scroll through ebay and gumtree to make sure he's not giving stuff away to cheap??
