OK,

Its "1800" = 2450 AUD plus 19% GST available from Boemanns Motorsport at the Nrburgring. (If German tax free is possible ,must be obtained )

Comes with a KW lifetime warranty and with a free modification option (rear upside down) . Springs in different rates also available.

Manual German/English :

The kit will be tested at the Nrburgring with my LH for the best setup.

Next week im back in the workshop and doing some more pics for you

I hope you are doing custom rear shock mounts as that is a bad idea to use the original ones in single shear mode with the full spring weight on them.

There was some pics on here tha someone posted where they had modified the shock mount to a double shear arrangement - can't remember who did it to thie car.

The kit has to pass a test by Boemanns and a KW engineer if modifications are needed.

Before this stage the KW Torana Coilover kit will be not available.

I think you may be referring to Dirtbag in this thread.

Looks sweet but I too would be concerned about the lower mounts on the car, especially the front.

LS2LXHatch,

that is sort of what I meant - someone did it much better than that where it mounted up on top of the lower control arm mount rather than butcher the hell out of it like that. That one looks a bit backyard to me.

Personally I think moving the shock inboard could cause clearance issues between the shock and the body.

Maybe something based on the K-MAC swaybar mount design.

Posted Image

I had a plate welded on instead of using the K-MAC u-bolts.

Yeah, that diff with the black shocks is the one I was thinking of. Much better - bolt nice and square too. Whos car doe that belong to?

Clearnace wise - one would have to check it out - hard to tell without trying it. Hopefully the top shock mount is also strong enough.

MickLX, good point about the front as well. I wonder if these are planned to go on top or below the control arm?

Looks like it could only go on top unless the pin through the bush comes out.

Are these alloy bodied? They do look nice.

The BW diff with the Commodore style shock mount is youngy_11 from this thread.

I would have some concerns about relocating the springs (rear) i have some doubts about the top shock mounts taking the spring loads long term as they were never designed for that.

x2, wouldnt you have to build in some braces between the 2 towers inside the boot and tied into the chassis?

awesome keep us posted on the coilovers, i know there`s a few of us in the west that are VERY interested. if there engineers are doing the intial testing, im sure the strengh of the mounts will be addressed or noted.

The Torana is build like a Tank when you compare the old Holden quality to a thin sheet metal of modern cars with a Mcpherson front suspension.

We will see.............

I'm still not convinced about it. With higher springrates and hard driving with better tyres, better brakes etc the loads are going to be a lot higher than what it was all designed for. The mount in the crossmember at the front would be fine but I'd be concerned about the 3 other points per side.

Also if you are going to the extent of putting in coilovers, a bit of reinforcement at the mounting points, if it is required, is not that hard. All it would need would be a plate over the top or something to distribute the load better.
On a side note, Brett32i has his coilovers mounted in the stock rear shock mounts with no problems so far.
