Andy, thanks for the pics. That clears things up for me.

Grant, I got them some time ago for the drag UC so a certificate wasn't required.

This coilover kit is made to fit into original front controlarms.

My next step later for me is custom made adjustable front control arms from "25crmo4" steel .Build from a former ZAKSPEED member.

The lower shock mounting for this control arms will be in UNIBALL and not original then.

Do these front shocks bolt straight into the stock locations? Are the 2 small bolts (or the thread in the control arm for that matter) on the bottom strong enough to handle the spring?

You can grind off the welded on nuts and mount the shock on top of the lower control arm. It would be difficult if not impossible to fit the shock through the lower control arm like the factory shock.

If you want something different with control arms
http://www.spcalignment.com/component/spc/?task=part_description&pid=94340&region=USA&make=Chevrolet%2FGMC&model=Camaro&year=1970+-+1981&from=USAFrom&to=USATo
I bought a set for my LJ Torana but they need specific part numbers (I can supply) to make a custom arm as they dont supply for Toranas off the shelf.

great info Uwe.

can you please share a pic of the rear coilover where it mounts to the strut top - have you had to modify the body shell to fiT the coilover?

Do you have your cage going to the rear strut towers? - Given that now that the load of the car is going throug the strut (as the spring is relocated) is the body going to tbe strong enough in that area?

CHEERS ADN GREAT WORK!

The brackets are selfmade.

I paid just for the cutting.

Now we have 4 bolts and a plattforn to spread the weight pressure.

I assume they are steel, how much do they weigh? Have you been able to get appropriate spring rates?

Think United Speed Shop do a front custom control arms with coilovers and also the full front IFS.
They have a HQ rear coilover kit and an LH/LX kit being released soon I think.

What happened was, KW make coil overs for torana.
KW also make a decent shock too, be better than a good chuck of the current shit on the market.

Dear Torana friends,

Before you ask or order them at KW suspension i must say that we have made some important changes to the prototype .

The changes we made at the shocks does KW not know.

They might know what shocks we got but not the final setup.

If you order from KW direct, the suspension will not fit.

I have to get back to their engineers to give away our recommendations we made after testing at the Nürburgring.

All i can say the KWs are fantastic. The Torana drives like a Go-Kart and its compfortable to drive that you are think that you are slow. But you are not !

Uwe
