Early LX hatches didn't have the intrusion bars. My 2/76 didn't, but the donor 12/77 LX hatch doors did.

My early (5/76) has them... but its a bit mixed and matched anyway.... So might have later model ones on them!

Should only really be the first few months that went without... I don't have specific dates but I think most LXs had them. Obviously didn't matter if it was a hatch or sedan because the ADR would have come in at the same time.

I have a spare set of hatch doors that don't have intrusion bars. Came from a 76 but I don't remember the month.
I was going to use them on the UC. Are intrusion bars (or lack of) something that is likely to be picked up by the transport mob?

I know of one case locally where a torana failed inspection because of no intrusion bars.

Is it likely?.... No
Is it possible... Yes.

Hmm, I might try my luck with the LX doors ( they are in much better nick). If they fail, I'll just whack the UC ones back on..... Just to pass rego :)

Pretty hard for someone to tell unless you have been in an incident where the intrusion bars have been tested (sometimes in a crashed torana you can see the outlines of the intrusion bars hahahhaha)

Side intrusion bars were mandatory on all motor cars from January 1977. It was introduced as ADR 29.
