Hi Matt, just to be certain are we talking abuot a 308 here? and if so an injected or non injected 5.0L as they are different?

i dont know what brand it was that you bought but we sell the Kilkenny casting timing covers for the holden's, we dont stock them anymore but rather order them in for customers so i cant supply you with a photo or anything but we have sold about 150 of them in 20 years and only ever had 1 credit request which was in 1996, so while i cant comment directly on there fit id imagine them to be good?
is this the same brand you bought? if so what issues did you have?

Hey Bigcav,

Yeah, a 308 one, to suit a Non-Injected motor...

I bought a brand new KC one, and is was pure junk.... casting dags all over it, and the pitting in the castings were worse than the rust pits in the cover that I was replacing... I got my money back for it... The supplier agreed that an "Australian Made" product, in the 21st century should not look like that! I did some more research and apparently I'm not the only one to say they were junk.... I ended up finding one at a swap meet, that ironically was an earlier KC one... It was perfect! It looked like an original Holden casting and I couldn't fault it! Obviously they haven't maintained their moulds over the years and they have seriously deteriorated.

Food for thought anyway.

Thanks!

P.S. Bought some new Tail light lenses yesterday! and they are spot on!!!!! Woohoo!!!! Top stuff rares!

roh or someone like them could make the rims easy enough
but nobody really makes tyres for these anymore
so it's really a catch 22
even 14's are getting harder to find decent tyres for
not a torrie part but rear 1/4 rust repair panels for a hj-z statesman
and are wagon/statesman still panels still avilable?
i don't feel like buying two sedan ones and cutting them up to get the extra length :)

I was under the impression there were still a few people making 205/60R13s? I pretty sure wider than 205s in 13 has been unobtainable for at least 3 or 4 years.

My request, Rear floor rust repair sections for LC/J. Both my floors are rubish so I'm having to do it the slow hard way, piece by piece.
Not sure if Rares do them but bottom of rear guards rust repair,
And another vote for LC/J parcel shelf repair

Hi Les,

I have 2 suggesstions for future products

1. More exchange parts - I personally would like to see LC exchange tail light surrounds first up but there is plenty of opportunity if you partner yourself with a quality restorer

2. 8th Day in the week - If you guys starting selling an 8th day in the week you'd make a fortune cause I can never find the bloody time I need to work on the car :banghead:

cheers
Luke

We would prefer less exchange parts as we have nothing but trouble with the changeover parts
